Gifts and Curses

Edward: "I will be..."
Edward moves back to the stairs, knowing he only has tonight and the next day to impress Kailani before the ship enters into Tortuga.

Kailani: *shivers in the water as the sun lowers in the sky, the heat of the day begins to fade*

Edward looks up as the day darkens, sighing slightly. Edward looks over to the edge of the boat where Kailani is.

Kailani: *doesn't resurface, she simply sends some shells up*

Edward slides down, sitting on the deck.

Kailani: *surfaces after awhile, panting*

Edward looks up to the sound of the water breaking, staying quiet.

Kailani: *tosses a few more shells up then herself, collapsing on the deck, panting* Phew.... *huff*

Edward: "You okay?"

Kailani: *nods* Just *huff* out of breath... *her torso rises and falls as she casts the water off of herself*

Edward gets up and walks over to her, holding his hand out to help her up.
"Need some help?"

Kailani: *smiles slightly, still huffing* Thanks *she takes his hand, the action causes a sensation to shoot up both of their arms. Their skin tingles as if cool water was rushing through them. The occurrence only lasts for a fraction of a second. Kailani freezes and looks up*

Edward lifts her up and blinks.
"What was that?"

*both should have at least an idea of what it was*

Kailani: I-I'm not sure *she looks away slightly*

Edward scratches the back of his head, wondering if it was what he thinks it was. He brushes the idea away, knowing that it most likely isn't true.
"Well, whatever it was. It.... Probably wasn't important."

Kailani: *nods* Right... *she slumps against the railing, exhausted*

Edward moves to the rail.
"So.... Long day, wasn't it?"

Kailani: *nods* I can't believe I was down 'ere for three hours... *she exhales, her breathing slowed. She feels her torso and arms burning from the exertion*

Edward turns his head to her.
"Three hours?! (It felt longer....) Must have been quite a dive!"

Kailani: *nods and looks at all the spoils on the deck, she again seems to be fumbling with something in her pocket as she holds a slightly disappointed look* It was

Edward cocks his head slightly.
"You okay?"

Kailani: Hmm? Oh! Yes, I am *she smiles slightly, her eyes seem to fix on Edward as a thought crosses her mind, she quickly shakes it* How were things when I was down 'ere?

Edward: "Boring mostly. You're the life of the party here. The most interesting thing was that the other necro messed with a zombie."

Kailani: She did, did she? *she chuckles* I imagine she's had practically no experience

Edward: "Most likely. She only moved his arm, and seemed REALLY excited about that."
