Sighing as the Aphrodite cabin door closes before her, Phae looks down at the crumpled parchment in her hand, the sloppily written street address becoming forever ingrained into her mind. “New York….” she frowns as she again commits herself to fixing someone else’s mistake.

She heads towards the camp exit, fighting to keep her mind off the current situation, not wanting to admit the way she feels, even to herself. She passes her friend Lilith and keeps her face hidden.

“Your beauty puts nymphs to shame, Lilith!” Lovesick!Tobias coos as he fawns over her every word. Lilith’s dreamy smile remains unbroken as she spots her friend.

“Phae!” her smile becomes more apologetic, “Thank you so much for helping me fix this…”

Without a word, Phae nods and exits the camp. She fights to keep her thoughts on the flora beneath her feet, calling the plants by name. After a few moments, she hails a taxi and heads for Tobias’ house.


She gazes at the apartment building in front of her. Taking a deep breath, she steps up to the door and taps lightly. The thud of footsteps shakes the ground beneath her slightly; a man answers the door, “Hello? May I help you?” His expression is kind beneath his unkempt ebony hair. The corners of his eyes crinkle in a welcoming smile.

“H-hello! I was told that Tobias lives here?” she stumbles on her words ever so slightly.

The man nods and turns around. “Tobias! One of your friends is here! It’s a girl!” he chuckles lightly before gesturing for her to step inside.

Just as the door closes behind Phae a wild scrambling is heard upstairs, “Is it her?!?” a boy’s voice calls.

For a brief moment, Phae’s eyes become alight with a flicker of joy. She thinks to herself, “C-could he mean me!?” Just as quickly as her excitement sparked, it dies. Tobias appears, rushing out of a room.

“Oh… Hi, Phae…” he slumps dejectedly in the same moment that Phae feels a pit grow in her stomach. She smiles, dead inside.

“Hello! Y-you didn’t happen to be thinking of Lilith, were you?” With every word, the pit in her stomach grows. “One of your clones got shot with an arrow of Eros…”

Tobias nods, “I know! I can’t stop thinking of her! I haven’t been able to accomplish even the simplest tasks for the past two days” He sighs, “I’ve got to fix this…”

“Yes! I-I mean, how?” She smothers her hope as soon as it rises within her.

“I’ll try resetting the clone… It shouldn't harm him. If that doesn’t work we’ll go to plan B,” he frowns, “which I still need to come up with.”

Phae nods, trying to contain her thoughts. Tobias looks up and smiles lightly, “Thanks for checking on me, Phae. I’ll come to camp soon to fix this.” He opens the door for her.

“N-no problem! S-see you,” she stutters.

Tobias cocks his head to the side, “Something wrong?”

Phae shakes her head abruptly and walks away, hearing the click of the door behind her as it closes. She gets back into the taxi and stares at her hands. The city rushes past her, but she sees none of it. The image of Tobias’ dreamy face at the thought of Lilith fills her mind.

Lol, thanks. I think I'll continue with this alternate story line

The wind buffets her as Gamma runs past. “BEEETTTTTttaaaaa!” his call fades as he speeds off. Lyrica regains her blanance and begins walking swiftly, pulling out a device.

She turns a corner and whispers into the gadget, “Beta target is secure. Gamma target heading your way.” She clicks the device shut and continues on her search.

WUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT?!

Still, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!? OOOOOH, Trill Co. double agent? Or a new company emerging? It's all so exciting!

I'm thinking:

Miles away, Gamma comes upon a crumpled figure. In a flash he’s on the ground beside it. Her turns the face toward him, revealing Lulido’s vacant stare as his form lies lifeless on the ground. Without a care, Gamma zooms off on his search, to no avail.

Hm.... Wonder what killed him?
